Cold Spaghetti

Our friends, Wyatt and Eli Poist, are in town visiting! (Wyatt was a roommate and fraternity brother of Paul and was in our wedding.) They were married in May and now live in Alexandria, VA. They are Big Fans of the Big Easy and we had a great time today. Will has been great (and they are SUPERB with him). We went to a local place Jacque Imo’s (new to Paul and I) that Eli remembered from previous visits — it was fabulous! Totally packed (you can tell it is definitely a local favorite) great music, food, drinks, etc. Will was an angel and, with Wyatt and Eli’s help, we kept him occupied long enough to both wait for a table and then enjoy a fun dinner.

Earlier this afternoon, we couldn’t get Will to take a nap, so we all went on a long walk to get Will to sleep in the stroller. Off we went through the neighborhood… over to St. Charles, stopping at the coffee shop, hanging out, etc… it was fun! It is great to have friends in town and we are looking forward to a wonderful weekend!

The next week will be a whirlwind of people!! We are so excited because our dear friend from India, Bela Singh, will be in town this weekend through Mardi Gras!!! AND, next weekend, we will have a visit with my gorgeous super-cool NYC-Rockette-Broadway-Professional triple threat friend from high school, Nikol (Peterman) Wolf!!!

Rub-a-dub-dub… one boy in a… BUCKET! Our temporary answer for how to keep Will still for a second. It’s Sunday night fun with the Monkey!!

Me: “How about some apples, Will?”

Will: “Ap-pulls”

Me: “Yes, apples!” (This was the first time he’d said it.) “Would you like some apples?”

Will: “Ap-pulls!”

Me: “Okay. We should also get some bananas.”

Will: “Nan-nas!”

Me: “Yes, bananas. You eat those by the truckload!! Who taught you to be such a little monkey?”

Will: “El-mo.”
