Hanging out at the hotel
Hotel Paracas is the swankiest place in town, to be sure. It’s not the Ritz… sort of a Best Western quality for rooms (think super small bed and basic rooms). But clean, airy, and full of things to do. The grounds are beautiful, pools well-kept (and surprisingly, the cholorine is not overpowering), and food very, very good.
Will loved lounging on the bed — here he relaxes and reads some Olie before bedtime.
Tourist Time!
Tomorrow afternoon we’ll board the bus to Paracas for a weekend outside of Lima! I ran around Central Lima today getting tickets and arranging hotel details and we’re all set (personal note: we will use travel agency in the future). We are staying at the swank Hotel Paracas, which is exciting because they have a pool and children’s playground. In terms of “tourist” outings, we hope to take the boat tour of the Islas Ballestas and a tour of the Nature Preserve. We booked a regular garden-view room (ie: the cheapest) and then realized that with Will going to bed by 8 and taking a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon, splurging for a larger room would be a good idea. So we are going to try to upgrade once we get there. We come back Sunday evening. Hooray!
Trippin’
Our bedtime routine includes a nightly shower. As we do not have a tub in NOLA, we have become adept at showering with Will. The routine is: I get in the shower, Paul undresses Will and brings him to me, I wash Will, call for Paul, and I hand a wet and clean Will off to Paul for lotion, diaper, and pajamas.
Sometimes Paul distracts Will for the few minutes it takes me to start the shower, but it is rare for me to wait long. Which is how we had this conversation:
“Paul, are you bringing Will?”
“Ummmm… well, I’m having a hard time unplugging him from the computer.”
“What is he doing?”
“He’s watching a pod-cast through the iTunes display, he likes the music. I think he may be stoned.”
“Really? What’s the music?”
“The Beatles. The White Album.”
Paul swears he’ll post the pictures.
