The insides of a 100+ year old house

This is the inside of the pocket door. You can see the framing to the left — the horizontal bars behind are the pieces to the actual exterior to the house. We’re not kidding when we say that this thing is NOT insulated! Posted by Picasa

Where is the hidden Confederate money??

Plaster has piled down at the bottom between the walls over the years. This will be a seriously messy project! Posted by Picasa

House Projects

Current Projects:
– Using razor blades, we scraped off the paint around the edges of the window panes (one heck of an improvement — see picture above.)
– Caulked the crown molding in the kitchen.
– Caulked kitchen windows and sealed the walk-through windows in the living room.
– Paul took down most of the back yard fence that fell during Tropical Storm Cindy.
– Cut back about a third of the growth one of the two hugely overgrown planter boxes in the back yard (the other is already cleaned out.)
– Took steps to meet with some local renovators (friends of friends) for advice on what to do about the back of the house. Posted by Picasa
