We went to explore.<br \/>\n<a><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5567\" title=\"art 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-1.jpg\" alt=\"art 1\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-1.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><br \/>\n<a><br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\nWill and I picked out books from the library stand, where the organization supporting our city libraries sell gently used books for around $1.\u00c2\u00a0 Will asked for Anne Rice&#8217;s The Witching Hour and I pointed him towards some Goosebumps stories to cut his teeth on first (both are still outside of his reading realm, though he still carries adult novels around and has at least two tucked in his bed at any moment &#8212; currently these are Adrienne Rich&#8217;s Dream of a Common Language and Flaubert&#8217;s Madame Bovary).  I picked up books 1 and 2 of Pullman&#8217;s His Dark Materials series.\u00c2\u00a0 For this I am thankful.\u00c2\u00a0 Lyra rocks.<\/p>\n<p><a><br \/>\n<\/a>Walking around the booths, I came across an <a href=\"http:\/\/lorrainepgendron.com\/\">artist<\/a> who reminded me of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nancythomas.com\">another artist<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Both artists are similar in age and used themes and materials in a similar manner, so I wondered if they came from similar backgrounds or training?\u00c2\u00a0 Turns out, no.<\/p>\n<p><a><br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5568\" title=\"art 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-2.jpg\" alt=\"art 2\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-2.jpg 427w, http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 427px) 100vw, 427px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a><br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\nLorriane Gendron is a Louisiana native.\u00c2\u00a0 Her work reflects it.\u00c2\u00a0 She characterizes herself as a folk artist and uses a themes from Louisiana life as her subjects.<br \/>\n<a><br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5569\" title=\"art 3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-3.jpg\" alt=\"art 3\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-3.jpg 427w, http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/art-3-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 427px) 100vw, 427px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a><br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\nThe Mardi Gras dancers collection is wonderful: full of spirit and detail.\u00c2\u00a0 I love that Santa &#8212;
