{"id":5243,"date":"2009-09-19T13:26:52","date_gmt":"2009-09-19T20:26:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/?p=5243"},"modified":"2009-09-19T13:36:31","modified_gmt":"2009-09-19T20:36:31","slug":"my-new-career","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/2009\/09\/19\/my-new-career\/","title":{"rendered":"My new career?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a><\/a><br \/>\nThe second cast went on week before last.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s in this one three weeks (removal day is October 1st).\u00c2\u00a0 If everything goes as planned, the arm will have remained unwashed for 6 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>I was not there for cast removal and replacement, but the report was that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/2009\/08\/28\/the-star-wars-cast-transforms-and-rolls-out\/\">Will&#8217;s dark blue X-wing cast (with autobot logo)<\/a> made quite a stir.\u00c2\u00a0 The technicians cut carefully around the paintings and gave Will the cast to take home.\u00c2\u00a0 (Will has an uncanny fondness for things others would see as landfill fodder.)<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; anyone have a creative re-use idea for a full arm cast with an X-wing painted on it?<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><br \/>\n<center><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5240\" title=\"cast1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/cast1.jpg\" alt=\"cast1\" width=\"343\" height=\"512\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><br \/>\nLast weekend, I fulfilled my promise of painting &#8220;Optimus Prime, ALL of him&#8221; on The Little Man&#8217;s arm cast.\u00c2\u00a0 He watched Mulan while I painted.\u00c2\u00a0 This time, he managed not to wipe his hand across the wet paint part way through, which really sped up painting time.<\/p>\n<p>It was late in the afternoon and rainy, so it was tough to get a good picture.\u00c2\u00a0 That, and the fact that Will, once released from the grasp of Mulan&#8217;s comforting glow, WOULD NOT STAND STILL.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re outside, the ISO is on, like, 500 million, and the kid is STILL blurry.<br \/>\n<a><\/a><\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5241\" title=\"cast2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/cast2.jpg\" alt=\"cast2\" width=\"343\" height=\"512\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><br \/>\nHe&#8217;s posing with the cut-out I used for sizing guidelines.\u00c2\u00a0 Because of the bend in the cast and the bumpy surface, both times I&#8217;ve used cut-outs to help determine appropriate spacing.\u00c2\u00a0 Not that the method produced perfect results, but it was enough to keep Will happy.<\/p>\n<p>So, starting around October 2nd, anyone have ideas for re-using one full arm and one half arm cast??<\/p>\n<p><a><\/a><br \/>\n<center><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5242\" title=\"cast3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.coldspaghetti.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/cast3.jpg\" alt=\"cast3\" width=\"343\" height=\"512\" \/><\/center><br \/>\n<a><\/a><\/p>\n<p>PS: Please forgive my overuse of the comma.
