Three more days until the two week holiday break.\u00c2\u00a0 Paul and I had lofty goals.\u00c2\u00a0 Or, rather, I had lofty goals.\u00c2\u00a0 My dream was to surprise the kids Christmas morning with PROGRESS.\u00c2\u00a0 In the house.\u00c2\u00a0 My dreams included finding the Christmas tree, putting down the floor in the back room, and putting together Will’s bed.<\/p>\n

Instead, I get home this afternoon to find this:<\/p>\n

The boys are hard at work, all right.\u00c2\u00a0 ON THEIR MAN PALACE.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I know, I know.\u00c2\u00a0 Who can resist a man putting up siding?\u00c2\u00a0 All by himself?<\/p>\n

**Okay, honey, forget about that building that we actually live in!\u00c2\u00a0 I support you in doing whatever you think is best!**<\/p>\n

I’m a wuss.<\/p>\n

But then again, look at that assistant.\u00c2\u00a0 How can I deny him time with wooden planks and hammers? Especially when it’s 70 degrees outside.<\/p>\n

Behold, The Man Palace.\u00c2\u00a0 Looks a lot like it did before, huh?\u00c2\u00a0 Progress is SLOW, people.\u00c2\u00a0 S-L-O-W.<\/p>\n

The good news is that Paul only has 12 more hardie boards to move from the front to the back.\u00c2\u00a0 (Remember that pile in the snow?<\/a>)\u00c2\u00a0 Six more trips and the neighbors will start talking to us again.\u00c2\u00a0 But the improvements to the front hasn’t stopped there!\u00c2\u00a0 We also un-stuck the stuck shutter.\u00c2\u00a0 We do, however, have some old college-style furniture donations on the porch for the Vets to pick up.\u00c2\u00a0 What can I say?\u00c2\u00a0 We can only gain so much class per day.<\/p>\n

Not to be outdone, I went to work in the kitchen.\u00c2\u00a0 My helper was not photogenic today.\u00c2\u00a0 She was busy making me coffee on her stove.\u00c2\u00a0 Coffee served in a bucket with koosh balls inside, which is really the only acceptable way to drink coffee.<\/p>\n

Between buckets of joe, she was helpful enough come around to lick a spoon.\u00c2\u00a0 Or three.\u00c2\u00a0 But who can blame her?\u00c2\u00a0 These grasshoppers are yummy<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 Chocolate, butterscotch, noodles, peanuts.\u00c2\u00a0 All for teachers and staff at the kids’ school.<\/p>\n

I even got all Martha-Stewart and put together little baskets with notes.\u00c2\u00a0 But here is the really amazing part: THERE ARE STILL THREE DAYS BEFORE THE END OF TERM.\u00c2\u00a0 I finished them early.<\/em><\/p>\n
